Tone knob on a '55 Fender Custom T8

HI-

I'm enjoying my newly acquired steel. I have very small hands, and am a bit challenged on using the tone knob with my pinky, especially when picking on the lower strings. Aside from a radical solution, like moving it, does anyone have an idea for some kind of kludge? Maybe a larger knob?

I also wish there were tone knobs for all three necks! What did players do back in the 50s when they wanted a "wah" effect on another neck, use a tone control mounted in a foot pedal?
