Howdy folks,

A record just came out that I played pedal steel on. Caveat, we color outside of the lines quite a bit.

The recordings are all of group improvisations with some light overdubbing. I also played telecaster on tracks 1, 3, 8 and 9, just so you know who to blame.

Here is the album on Bandcamp, but it is also streaming to all the usual places: https://freejazzcollective.bandcamp.com/album/restless-elsewhere

Next time someone complains that pedal steel is dying or that folks aren't trying anything new, let this be one of many counter examples.

Happy to hear y'alls thoughts, its been a little over a year since I started playing pedal steel and this recording documents the progress I have made since our first album, Happy Holiday Music. (https://freejazzcollective.bandcamp.com/album/happy-holiday-music)

Which incidentally, might also be the world's first "free jazz" Christmas album?

I also made this music video for the opening track, mostly using public domain video and images: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1pfPO2thDA
