The intro, first half of the solo, and a lot of the fills have to be the late, great Buck Trent on his Shot Jackson modified electric banjo with benders.

I wouldn't swear to it, but the steel sure has a lot of hints of Buddy Charlton's playing; the lick that ends the steel solo (at around 1:05) is kind of a signature of his. Buddy did some sessions for Porter Wagoner in that era, and Norma Jean worked with Porter of course so it's possible. I'd love to hear other opinions on that, or even better a definitive answer!

Cool track, thanks for posting.

According to countrydiscoghraphy it's Hal Rugg.
