got to thinking about this song today so i recorded a track of it. sound of silence by simon and garfunkle. i remember buying this on a 45 record when it came out back in the day. interesting track in that it was originally just the two voices, simon on acoustic guitar and an upright bass. didnt go anywhere so a year or so later the producers took the track and added electric guitars and hal blaine on drums. you can hear the track speed up and slow down as there was no drums on the original track. paul simon didnt even know they did it over! it was a hit !

there are some 2/4 bars in the song and the 3rd and 4th verses have a little different structure to match the lyrics. i just used the form of the first verse. lap steel, drum loop and a track of bass. its a nice tune to play on the steel. thank you for listening.
