Pedal Steel Practice Area LED Signs

Post by Greg Cutshaw »

Just got this sign to put over my pedal steel main practice area to add some color and ambience. It's all LED, has switchable colors and modes. It's looks a lot nicer than my iPhone Pictures show as the colors are bright, crystal clear and vivid but can be dimmed. You can of course customize the lettering and there are many vendors that sell these.

Power draw at full brightness is 5.6 watts (measured by me on an RMS wattmeter). So at $0.11 per KW/H this sign will cost you $0.44 per month to run. I switch mine on and off with a Philips Hue app so it only comes on when I am in the room and turn those lights on (can also be switched individually).

It comes with a remote control for all functions. I bought mine here and got it delivered in 5 days:

Really nice Greg ... I've been wanting a Neon sign for my Studio, though I think Neon today is LED

Larry, Dale:

The pictures on the new phone are better but they still don't quite show the super clear lines and vivid colors. The old neon signs sucked up a lot more power and generated a ton of line noise raising havoc with studio equipment.

Yes... the ones I was looking at resemble Neon but are LED and look pretty good, at least online.
