Getting a Lap Steel "Boo-Wah" on PSG??

Post by Jim Fogarty »

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows a way to get a good "Boo-Wah" like lap steels do by manipulating the tone knob while sliding......but on a pedal steel? Not talking about the 8th pedal, 10th string lower on a C6 psg (ala' Night Life). This would be for an E9 steel. I'd prefer not to carry around a wah pedal just for that, though.

Suggestions? Thanks!

Wire in a tone knob. I am not sure why pedal steels don’t have tone knobs as standard.

The tone knob and cap on my Emmons is adequate for that. Problem is the location down low between the necks makes it hard to grab quickly.
