Phaser on Luckenbach, Texas

Post by Per Berner »

Hi guys. The only thing missing on my pedalboard is a phase shifter (not for steel, just for regular guitar), I'm looking for the sound on Waylon's Luckenbach, Texas in a reasoanbly priced pedal with adjustable speed and depth. Back in the day I used an EH Small Stone, which was very noisy...

Any recommendations?

I think MXR Phase 90 but Waylon was famous for using a Maestro PH-1A, which is fairly pricey nowadays.

The best one I have heard in a while is the Behringer VP1 Vintage Phaser Pedal.
Crazy and only costs $39.
It has the Waylon phaser sound.

Yep. VP1....clone of the old EH Small Stone. Sounds just like the 80s vintage one I used to have but not noisy like those.

Only thing I see, is it attenuates the volume a tad and it has a soft switch. It's also quite a bit larger than most stomps if you're going to put it on a pedal board.

Just one variable ajustment pot and the color switch just like the old one. Best value on a phaser pedal around.

My old Peavey Mace amplifier had a great sounding phaser unit in it!😁😎
