Gorgeous Vintage Japanese Takamine EN18 Acoustic + HSC $999

Post by Mark Helm »

Howdy, Folks!

Up for sale is (as well as a bunch of other stuff--see below): a rare vintage Takamine EN18 electro-acoustic dreadnought guitar from the Golden era of the Japanese factory. In Excellent condition with just a couple of VERY minor dings/scuffs. Plays wonderfully and sounds brilliant. Looks a stunner, too!!

These are almost impossible to find.

It is in excellent condition for a 30+ years old guitar. Has been played very little--and that’s why shows very little wear. Just a few tiny marks. Please check photos.

Frets have plenty life left. Would say a fair 8.5-9/10 condition...! Just one tiny ding and a tiny nick and scratch (pictured). Plays beautifully!

ALL REASONABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED!

Takamine's distinctive split-saddle bridge provides accurate acoustic intonation through a specially compensated design that is quite literally split, giving the two unwound strings--the B and the high E--their own well-deserved "break" and enhancing overall intonation. This acoustic guitar has the richest and brightest of tones with solid sustains for live performances, and combined with the built-in legendary Yari electronics, it delivers unmatched amplified performances and is also perfect for studio work.

Check out the history and sound of this guitar on this video:

Takamine guitars are carefully constructed in the foothills of the Japanese Alps, where dedicated artisans create instruments of special beauty. This Takamine guitar features only the finest well-seasoned solid spruce top with mother of pearl inlays, rosewood sides and back and an ebony fingerboard. This Takamine EN 18 guitar embodies the elegant aesthetics and masterful precision that only comes from decades of devotion to this craft.
