Holy schmoly after 50 years

Post by Ray Minich »

I just got to catch a brief video of Pink Floyd playing "Great Gig in the Sky" on Facebook and sure enough there is David Gilmore playing what looks like a 6 string teasing out glissandos. 50 years of listening to the tune and my ears never made the connection.

The original recording was done on a Fender 1000 d-8 pedal steel but he didn't use the pedals. I think most live performances were done on a 6 string lap steel, E minor tuning.
