Dobro players —Anyone with experience with the Fishman Aura Jerry Douglas pedal:
Mine quit working mysteriously, just sitting unplugged on my pedal board.
Trouble shot everything: batteries, cables, guitar direct to amp, other guitars to Aura. Nothing.
The light comes on by the on-off stomp, but no signal is coming out.
Fishman is closed till next week, and I will contact them directly….but it put a damper in this weekends band practice.
I’ve owned this pedal probably 7 or more years.
Anybody have this problem? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance…… _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

Mine died, 95% probably from a lightning related power spike. Same behavior -- lighting up but passing no signal. I can't make any sense of yours, not having been plugged in.
Fishman replaced the board with a quick turnaround -- I think I recall it was a flat $50?
This does you no good for your immediate needs. |

Thanks Jon, yeh, I’ll be sending it into Fishman most likely. _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

Hey Brooks, I have yet to come across anyone who had a JD Aura pedal fail that was able to go out to the workbench in their garage and figure out how to get it up and running again.
I think they put that shiny metal plate on the bottom for a reason - they don’t want you to mess with it, it’s send it back to Fishman for repairs. _________________ Mark |

Thanks Mark. I am an electronics idiot and will definitely send it in.
I was hoping there was some sort of neanderthal fix like stomping on the switch and holding it down for ten seconds and muttering a buddhist chant…or such. _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

"Make sure you are not in MUTE mode..."
The light would not come on when muted.

Update for you JD Aura users: I sent it back, they fixed it for $50.
They are slow to respond to voice msgs, but respond well to emails (like most big companies these days).
They are very strict about filling out the emailed forms for an RA before anything happens.
All-in-all, great service, and I played through it last night at band practice, it worked perfectly, and I sounded like a million pesos. _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |
