Franklin s-10 4+5 short hey head Red. It is 24 1/2 inch scale
Josh; I can comment on this. Paul Franklin Senior is the man that designed the "Short Key Head" for the 1st ShoBud LDG made for Lloyd Green in May 1973. Lloyd did not like the overtones from the original keyhead(too long of distance from roller to 4th and 5th strings create OVERTONES); so Paul Sr. designed a shorter keyhead and made the scale 24 1/2" to help with the sustain.
So Looks like he made a custom job on this S-10 Franklin after Paul left doing Custom work for ShoBud in 1978 and started his OWN Pedal Steel Guitar biz. So believe me; when you get a Franklin; you are getting a pedal steel with almost every part custom/inventively made by the Man himself who designed ALL OF IT.

I drove up from Oklahoma and met Dennis in Illinois yesterday and picked up the Sho-Bud. He’s a great guy to do business with. After reading Damon and other members troubles with the shippers I’d rather bite the bullet and go pick em up. Thanks again Dennis, it was a pleasure and we enjoyed the trip!!!
