Classic Dunn on Spotify

Post by Tim Toberer »

I have about a thousand records, but most of the time I just listen to whatever I can find on Spotify. https://open.spotify.com/album/271Ohyy8b7Oq5KXVxo154t

This newer Bob Dunn release was a nice surprise to find! I have been loving the Steel guitar Classics release for the past year or so. I haven't been able to justify buying the Cliff Bruner or the Milton Brown box sets. I wish they would release this stuff in digital format! There are some real gems on this one and I am getting a better sense of Dunns playing with these selections. Blue Skies and Stardust are two standouts and there is another version of Takin Off. There are also a couple numbers that really highlight his ragtime influence and at times his phrasing really reminds me of Sol Hoopii. If you haven't already, check it out.
