Long story short:
YEARS ago I was providing photo hosting services for any forum members who wanted my help posting photos on the forum. I ended up with a small archive of photos.
I just received an inquiry about a particular photo that someone turned up on that hosting page of mine of Jimmy Day on stage with Willie Nelson. They are doing a documentary on Willie and are seeking photo copyright clearance. I certainly cannot provide that.

One source of a lot of photos was Charlie Owens. Of Fort Worth, I seem to recall? I am a bit confused as to whether there may be two Charlie Owens's? But my guy had a ream of photos, including some that were used on Jimmy's "Golden Steel....." CD cover. I think he is also credited as one of the reboppers vocalizing behind Jimmy. Or is it the other Owens. If there is one.
In other words I'm nothing but vague about this.

I promised the documentary person that I would forward to her any info I could get regarding Charlie Owens contact info (which I no longer have) so that she could pursue this inquiry. If he is even still with us.

Has anybody got anything?

There were two Charlie Owens, one in Memphis TN and one in Fort Worth. I met the C.O. from Memphis when he was with Jerry Lee Lewis in Las Vegas in 1971.

I never to my knowledge met the TX C.O., but we communicated more than a few times about his photos; this was probably close to 30 years ago or more, and I have no way to contact him now.

I found a very inactive membership account for Fort Worth Charlie here and I'm emailing. We'll see.

Jon and Herb- I met Charlie Owens from Ft Worth while playing a ranch dance in Throckmorton County Texas around 1985? It was a big crowd and was really remote, about 15 miles of dirt road. I was playing with Dale Snow. As I was tuning up my MSA Universal I looked down and saw a pair of cockroach killer cowboy boots. I looked up and he introduced himself to me as Charlie Owens. He asked how I liked the Universal concept? Seems like he said he was playing a ShoBud guitar and played regularly at the Stagecoach Ballroom in Ft Worth? We had a good visit. I think Dale said that Charlie might have played with George Jones in the past?? Not sure about that?
