Audio Recordings for Winnie Winston Book

Post by Gunnar Schmitz »

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a copy of Winnie Winston's pedal steel instruction book, and it did not come with the accompanying CD/Floppy disk/Record. I dug up an old thread where another forum user got permission from Winnie to distribute the audio files so long as people aren't pirating his book, but it looks like the link in that thread no longer works. Would anyone be willing to help me find a copy of those audio files?

Thanks!

I've had my share of ineptitude using DropBox. So let me know if this isn't happening.

This is what I downloaded a long time ago. I can't confirm that it is complete.

I bought the book about 25 years ago, and have misplaced the CD. Thanks for sharing that. Now I'll probably find the lost record.

Wow...very cool. I still have my original book with the tear-out perforated record.
Thanks for sharing this

That record was what I had in my 1982 edition of the THE BOOK. Floppy disc before floppy discs. That record is gone more years than I can count.

I'd be uptight about offering the free download (which I downloaded from someone else's online offering) except that I don't see the audio as having much of any reason for existing without the book.

If someone were ever to 'cease & desist' me, I'd respect their legal claim. Don't know how much I would respect them, though.

My disk is still sealed in my book. Never took it out being I didn't have a CD player at the time.

Wow, I bought this book new about 20 years ago and I've never heard these recordings. It either came with a cassette tape or nothing - can't remember.

Thanks for providing these recordings!
