Kim Carson And The Real Deal-Great Band

Post by Brett Day »

In October of 2021, I had the opportunity to see and hear a great country band at Dollywood called Kim Carson And The Real Deal. Kim and the band play alot of country classics. Kim plays acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and harmonica, and the steel player in the band is Dwight Breland, who plays a 1981 Emmons. Kim is from Texas, but plays shows in New Orleans, Louisiana. She's also a great songwriter, and wrote a song called "Country Radio" and in the song, she talks about how radio stations don't play the country music we all know and love, and in several parts of the song, you'll hear intros of songs like "Folsom Prison Blues", and other songs. During her show, she sings songs she wrote, as well as cover songs like Johnny Rodriguez's "Pass Me By If You're Only Passing Through", "I'm Not Lisa", and other songs.
