May I ask if anyone here has worked through the Jerry Douglas’ Master Musician course The Resophonic Guitar? What might you offer to sway me in that direction?

Thanks for your comments.

I can’t comment on Jerry Douglas’ classes but I can suggest Troy Brenningmeyer’s videos. I started with his resonator videos last summer. Troy breaks the material down so you can follow what he’s doing. He covers technique, theory, and teaches songs. He has written material and backing tracks that you can download that go along with his videos. I think the monthly cost is comparable to the other on line instructors and he was running a 30% off special recently. Troy also has videos for lap steel in a couple of tunings. I’ve added a lap steel tuned in C6 and I’m definitely getting my moneys worth from his site.
