As long as the pedal operates smoothly, don't worry about any rust on the pull rod (I think you refer to this as a "wire") that's hooked to the changer. When you're starting out learning to play, don't work on the guitar unless something isn't operating properly.

Hi Donny I didn't explain correct..It has already happened the bend on the pull rod has snapped that's y I have to make new one..being from the Uk I carnt just order a new one.The end of the pull rod has a brass tube on it with a screw the screw has gone rusty in side the rod. I carnt get a replacement any where so I have had to make one

Hi Jon
Thank you for the link
Thats a better price for them.
the only problem with steelguitarcanada they on do a min order of $40 then that country tax and then shipment and we have to pay out Vat to the post office. I know I have ordered stuff from Canada and the US before and it takes a month to receive it, I am speaking from the uk about the UK
there was a link to a metals on line which I learned from
Happily my son has a lath (when he came to see us ) ( I had lessons from him ) I had to purchase the brass and a tap for the brass and the right size drill and made some.. and some of the bone shapes so I have a couple of each in case I loose any more ( you take them out drop them and they are never seen again
reading one of the post I do think its a good to stick to brass so it dosent were the folks down
So many thanks to all reposndance
