Caught Norm playing with Mario Carboni and Alyssa Marie Overby at the Friday Fling in Palmer, Alaska this afternoon. Steady rain during the entire show. Norm is 87 now and played wonderfully - exemplified what a true professional is!

How great is that? Hope the crowd had shelter and was able to see a legend performing. Great pictures.

What's that bar in front of him that matches his guitar?

Erv, I believe that's a light system to light the fretboard.

I saw these guys at the Southwest Steel Guitar Assoc convention couple years ago -- Norm has a really bright LED bar above the fretboard. I highly recommend this act, tons of fun.

Understandably the crowd was very small - never numbered more than 30 as some folks wandered around the Friday Fling. It rained during the whole time, but did quit after it was over, of course!

Yes, that’s a light bar for Norm’s fretboard. It was a real treat to be there!!

Nice interview with Norm. He seems just as humble as Leon Rhodes!

A Seymour amp? Did Bobbe make 'em years ago?

A Seymour Amp. Yes Sir. I had one years ago. Wish I still had it. They were a nice straight on amp. I do not know if Bobby made it himself but it had his name on it. I brought it from him over the phone. Single 15" and Solid State. Around 1984 or 1985. Don't remember the power but was good sounding amp. Single Channel and basic controls. Only one I ever saw till this picture. J.R.
