There’s a lot of great YouTubes of Stoney’s music. I wish it was more available especially on vinyl. He had a great voice and could sing honkytonk country with anybody.

His six albums on Capitol have been remastered and made available on streaming platforms recently. I hope one day they will release them on cd also.

In the comments on YouTube, Larry Benson who owned Benson Sound studio in Oklahoma City verifies that it was done in his studio and he played piano. Based on that, it could have been Doug Campbell playing steel. John Hughey was in and out of Oklahoma City then, and it sounds a lot like him as well. Doug's style and tone was a lot like Hughey then and they both played Push Pulls. Benson Sound was probably known as the preeminent studio in OKC at that time.

Stoney probably did a lot of recording here, as I was on a demo of his in 1975 or so.
