Hi guys, getting ready to purchase my first Emmons LL3. Need some tips and info on what this system is and how to fine tune. Never owned an Emmons before. I started out on a ShoBud D10 Professional .and now I have my Mullen R.P. D10 8-5. The Mullen doesn't have compensator sys,so this is all new to me . |

The compensator actually puts pressure on the changer axle when a pedal is pushed. Adjustment is easy, just adjust nylon tuner on compensator to where strings not being pulled don’t go flat. Think the nylon tuners are red on most of them..just use small adjustments. Doesn’t take much. Over adjustments can make pedals hard to push.. _________________ Henry Matthews

Hi Dan.
Search Emmons LeGrande III counterforce mechanism here in the pedal steel section.
Here's a partial old entry with an overview of the system.
