What tuning are you using for these fry pans?

Jules C13 most of the time (normal C6 but with a low Bb and extra low C), B11 on occasion for certain songs...mine is a long scale 8.

short scale, 8-string: mostly E13 (L2H: G B D E F# G# C# E) for some songs I change to B11 or A6 with the same string set.

A great 7 strings tuning is the Bobby Ingano’s C13

John, is there something more specific that you want to know? The tunings used on Clinesmith 7 & 8 string lap steels are the same as on any other 7 or 8 string lap steel.

If you are already playing a 6 string tuning, one way to look at the 7th or 8th string, is to add something that you feel is missing from your tuning. For example in C6 you might want more bottom end, or to add the dominant 7, so BbCEGACE. For Dobro G, you might add an E to the bottom and or middle to get minor triads.
GBDGBD to EGBDGBD, GBDEGBD, or EGBDEGBD.

Another option is to choose and use a tuning that works much better with more strings. E9 for example.
