PayPal Friends and Family

Post by b0b »

Please do not promote PayPal "Friends and Family" on this site. Besides being a bad idea when dealing with people you don't know (no recourse for fraud), it can get the forum's PayPal account in trouble. We were suspended from withdrawal access for 3 weeks recently on a different issue, and promoting "Friends and Family" payments is definitely against their rules.

This notice from b0b should be a “sticky” on each “for sale” section.

I knew it was inadvisable, but not that it was an infringement.
Thanks for the heads up, b0b

PayPal just announced a new policy, effective at the end of July, business accounts will not be allowed to receive any F&F payments.

Question, If we see an add that asks for PayPal F&F, should we: 1) Respond with a link to your new sticky, 2) Message an administrator, or 3) Do nothing and assume it will be taken care of by admin.?
Thanks,
Steve

I don't know if I got "taken" or not, but I sent $140.00 the "wrong way" and UPS says the package was never picked-up and the shipper, from this forum, says it was picked-up. The shipper has a pretty good name on this forum, so I don't know what to do. All I know is that from this point forward, no more F&F from me just to try and save a few dollars.

Update- UPS lost the package and the seller refunded my money.

Thanks,

Never assume that a moderator will catch everything. I'd say #2.

Thanks Bob, I have never been comfortable using F nd F for a transaction even if I trust the person. If I was selling I would figure the PP fees in and price accordingly! Personally I am very happy to see this take effect.
