Anybody know this name?

Post by Matthew Murray »

Hello everybody. My name is Matthew Murray I am new to the steel guitar and the forum. I have been trying to tracking down the history on my Sho-Bud Maverick. The guy I bought it from had it for the past 15 years thinking he would restore it but never got around to it and he doesn't remember who he bought it from on eBay or the history. So I have been trying to piece it together the history. I talked to Gene Haugh about the serial number. (Great help by the way) And the serial number indicated that it was built in March of 1974 and sent to Cincinnati Ohio. Besides that there is no record of it anywhere. No Markings on it anywhere besides a lone signature. "1983 Ronnie Rodger" Besides that nothing I can find on the guitar that indicates any significant history besides the undercarriage half missing. Only thing that is hooked up is the A pedal but that is WAY out of tune everything else is missing including the knee lever all there is is holes of where it used to be. The wires that connects it to the bridge appear to be made out of a clothes hanger wire. But I got it for a great price and I figured I could get it working and be no where near the price of those mavericks in today's value. That's how good of a price it was. But that is my mission over the summer find parts to get it working, get it in tune and learn how to play. But it would be nice to know the history on it. So if anybody know who is Ronnie Rodger and how long he owned it for. Presuming he is a past owner. That would be great to find out a little more history on it. Thanks, Matthew.
