One of the nicest, most experienced, and most talented players in our area
is Terry Wood from Conway, Mo. Most of the guys have been to the Annual'
Terry Wood Steel Guitar Show , For the first 5 years the show was held in
Marshfield Mo where, after starting in Arlington, Tx, Gene Field relocated
his GFI Steel Guitar Co to. In fact, for a period of time in '21 , Terry
worked for GFI , building and selling steels. Over time Terry was also
producing a Gospel Steel Show...very popular and equally successful.

This year 2022 will mark the 20 th year of having the show and through
the years there have been seven {7} Steel Guitar Hall of Fame members
as special guests to play the show . One name that comes to mind as a
standout player and a genuine stand up guy was Don Helms , steel man
for the great Hank Williams. It's unbelievable how much music Hank
left us with that after 69 years since he passed , it is still as
popular as ever
Terry plays a BMI built by Zane Beck and Julian Tharpe along with Zane
were his influences , so much so that Terry named his son after Zane.

Additionally, Terry has taught many students and has written tablature
for 7 Steel Guitar instructional Courses. He has also released 10 DVD
courses for both pedal and lap steel. One thing that stands out about
Terry is the testimony of his walk with the Lord, a presence of the
indwelling Spirit .

The OSGA is proud to present Terry Wood for your listening pleasure
on June 24 & 25 in Jenks Ok fellowship hall at Saint James Presbyterian
located on South Elm St . We just wanted to honor a very deserving man

I have known Terry for a good while and attended many of his shows, including those in Marshfield. I was able to talk directly to some of my heroes including Herby Wallace and Don Helms at these shows. Last year Terry was at the Oklahoma show and showing off a new GFI he just built. Somehow my lovely wife caught wind of me examining that steel and worked out a deal with Terry without me knowing about it. She surprised me with it a couple weeks later for my birthday. My only complaint is that he failed to leave all his hot licks on it and I had to find them on my own. I will question him about that this year, Haha. I enjoy Terry as a friend and a player and I look forward to seeing him and his son Zane at the show.

Terry is one of the greats, and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves.
