Who's The Steeler?

I love the classic intro and turnaround on this song. The record reminds me of Hughey's playing with Vince. I'd like to know who it is. On this live version, is the steeler that guy who also flies planes? (I realize that in Steel World that doesn't narrow it down much...) BTW, at 3:06 there's an a cappella moment that goes sideways in a big way that is SO refreshing, in a world where all the singing you hear has been auto-tuned to death. It's like something that might happen in Bluegrass World. These guys are human beings!

Slim Yamacuchi. Played on the road with Mark for several years in the 90s. IIRC, Paul Franklin played on the recording.

Slim did a great job.. just what was called for in this song.. Great version of the MTB classic by Mark and the guys... The original was great and beloved by all, but this remake was wonderful.. A bit more "classic country" sounding with the steel and fiddle, but otherwise an homage to the original... One of the best takes on a classic that I've ever heard...bob

Slim is an excellent musician who delivers consistently night after night musically but put him on the golf course and it’s just not the same guy!.. lol! Superb human being and consummate gentleman!
