Larry Garrett interview

Post by Larry King »

Sometimes one just naturally is closer to one player
than others. Such is the case with Larry Garrett .Due
to his career with the USPS {36 years} he wasn't able
to go to other shows . In fact, his first time at the
TSGA {Texas} show , we ran into Mike Johnson and I
introduced Larry as a rookie taking his virgin flight.

Not that he had been totally sheltered....after all,
he'd been to Branson and saw many great steel players,
including Bethel, Brumley ,Wright, and a host of others.
Larry served as President of the Siloam Springs steel
club for a time and did a remarkable job in that office.

Larry is an accomplished bass player , lead guitarist,
steel player and awesome vocalist. He owns perhaps the
prettiest LDG you'll ever see. His talents have kept him
in demand with local bands such as O K Country and more
recently with Dale Johnston's Country Review . He is a
man who stands ever ready to help any way he can, a fact
I can personally attest to and is willing to help old
people, present company Not accepted. Should that have bee
excepted ? Don't judge me on my English....I'm still
learning. Larry Garrett is one of my closest friends , my
roommate, my chauffeur, secret keeper....you get the idea
but we stop short of shopping for furniture. He and Doris
have been married close to 50 years.

Don't miss seeing him play and also doing vocals on others'
sets. You'll never meet a nicer , more genuine man and I look
forward to hearing him June 24 & 25 at the OSGA convention
located at St James Presbyterian , Elm St., Jenks Oklahoma

b0b notes: Larry Garrett will be performing at the OSGA show in Jenk, OK, on June 24, 2022.

Well, I have 4 brothers who have the same parents, but Larry King is my "other brother." I appreciate those kind words. I just try to live by "The Golden Rule." We have had many musical "adventures" (and others😁
but we're not done yet)🙂 I've learned a lot from my other brother! Looking forward to big fun at the OSGA show.

Do you guys know why Larry always wears a big cowboy hat?

He doesn't want the sun to bleach the color out of his mustache.
