Buddy ? Not sure

Post by Joe Krumel »

https://youtu.be/Svu56CYXD7I around 1:05 the solo starts. Can't find credits for this. Maybe bigger brains can settle this.

Those chord voicings at 1:11-1:13 tell me it’s probably not Buddy. Not that he couldn’t play them if he wanted to  but I’ve never heard him use them.

That's Buddy alright, listen to the tone and attack. No-one has that tone. Thanks for posting.

Of all the years I knew Buddy and know that so many have tried to copy his playing, I would say that this is a copy and a pretty good one at that.

I too have never heard Buddy play some of those licks, even with some of the off the wall recording that I have of Buddy.

Plus it "almost" sounds like there was close to being a mistake at the end of the phrase and Buddy would never release something with a mistake.

Just my opinion.
AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. Can't get much sweeter.

Sounds like Paul to me - I don't hear anything close to a mistake either.
