Here I am, looking like I'm not having fun but actually having a great time.

Thanks, Doug! It is a handsome little guitar.
It's been a great pleasure to play with everyone here. I didn't know Bob until we started in OC; what a great guitar player. _________________ Marlen S12 pedal steel

Andrew, great to hear about [another] Western swing band in our Southern New England region.
I play a Carter SD-12 with Western Stars here in Rhode Island. 6-piece band + vocals, with a monthly gig at a Providence club called . . . The Parlour!

Hi Chris! Sorry, I was unclear. Opal Canyon is mostly rock/folk, but I do play with a classic country band called Wild Bill and the Flying Sparks that touches the Western swing territory. Nice to hear about you, as well! What's the name of your band? _________________ Marlen S12 pedal steel

I'll ask him about that! We've got a good dynamic on stage. We don't like to have to remember who's supposed to take a solo so we just weave around each other. _________________ Marlen S12 pedal steel

>Opal Canyon is mostly rock/folk,
That's fun music.
>Wild Bill and the Flying Sparks that touches the Western swing territory
We are Western Stars. We carry a cloth backdrop with stars on it (!) and prop up cardboard saguaros and howling wolves. Yep, pretty corny.
Come on over some time for a RISGA meeting/jam! Doug B has done that. |
