Steelin' The Blues by Jerry Byrd. Played on an Epiphone Century reissue lap steel guitar with upgraded blade type pickup. C6 tuning - CEGACE low to high. Backing created with a tenor ukulele and a ukulele style bass. I hope you all enjoy, Mike!

Thank you Jim, Cliff, Sebastian and Michael for your kind comments.
Michael, the backing tracks are a bit of a chore to create but I have found they do help me to understand how the steel guitar is harmonised to the music! I have also found that the simpler the backing the more you can express your personality in the steel performance!

Sounds great! What brand of Charlie Christian is that?

Thank you Ryan. It is a faux type of CC pickup. It was made in the UK by Jag Guitars. Unfortunately the maker passed away a few years ago!

Sounds great. I have Lallor CC in my round neck National Collegian that I really like.

Great job, Mike. You navigated all that tricky bar maneuvering really well! I know it can be hard to keep those slants in tune, and they come fast! Well done. Jerry Byrd would be proud!

Thank you Scott. I have been playing and recording a few of Jerry Byrd's pieces this last couple of months. I find it the best way to get into the way he plays. Having done this I can understand more why he is called the master of touch and tone. A truly great player!
