Hello, I am new member. Getting back in the "steel" world after a few decades of playing mostly piano. In the 70's I took dobro and pedal steel lessons from Cal Hand in Minneapolis. Played in country rock bands locally and regionally, then shifted to rock, jazz and gospel on piano.

But now have a Beard Road-O-Phonic on order to play in a country blues duo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a2ELnLpQoM To finance the Beard, in the near future I hope to sell my 70"s Dobro Model 60 and a Sho-bud S-10 bought from Clem Schmitz in Minneapolis. Watch for these listings.

It's an exciting world, Randy (and welcome). For a few years we were worried that steel might dwindle or disappear: where were the new players? Was the instrument being phased out by "new country"?

But new players (and former players) are springing up, and many musical boundaries are being pushed both here in the US and in other countries.
