Has anyone had this issue and solved it? Both pickups have been remagnatized recently.

Hi Joe, yes my DW-16 also has this imbalance. As far as I know my pickups are stock and have never been re-magnetized. I spent a lot of time raising / lowering / tilting each pick-up until I achieved something close to a balance.

I also believe (but it's difficult to verify exactly) that on both necks, string 8 doesn't pass over the pick-up's pole-piece quite as closely as do the other strings. I've compensated somewhat by using a heavier gauge on string 8 than one might normally use.

I've found a balance that I am happy with and have my two tunings arranged so that the inside neck (A6) is used for playing melodies and solos whilst the outer neck (E Maj 13) is used mostly for chordal work.

That said, it's a wonderful instrument with a unique sound and I will only part with it when I myself am put in a wooden case!

Thanks Paul - I’ll try raising one lowering the pick ups. I forgot about that trick.
I also love the sound. I’m going to start with E13 on that neck. C6 on the other.
