It comes in the original case with all the original legs and cord. All the switches and knobs work.
What is the ballpark value of this?

Boy that's in nice shape . Not a Stringmaster though . It's a Custom , I think . $1500 and up would be my guess. |

I would think the value in todays market to be $1800-2500 range. _________________ I have a Tele plus telecaster, Larrivee acoustic. It has the original finish and that is worth extra since a lot of those we see now have been refinished a non Fender color. I'd say minimum 1500 and more depending on how bad someone wants one in this good a condition. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

Probably around 1500. Also, some buyers may be put off by the penned-in fret numbers on all three necks. |

$1500 was what I was thinking too. If I were buying, I wouldn't give more than that. If I were selling, I'd try to hold pretty firm to that number as well. I had some success cleaning off marker ink and sticker glue with Naptha on a guitar I sold. See how it reacts to the lacquer on a hidden spot first. This is a T8 I sold five years ago for $1K, which also happens to be the aforementioned cleaned guitar.

Is that really the original case? Never seen one with blue lining before and it looks slightly too big for the guitar - all the original cases I've seen have been pretty snug. |

I've been eying these lately, and seems that they're advertised $1500+ but usually sell around $1100-1200. The main reason I believe is the size.
I'll often see deluxe trapezoid fenders go for higher than the t8s due to portability.
BUT I think on a reverb site or somewhere where you're getting nipped in the butt by fees, looking for 1500 makes sense. _________________ -Gibson EH185-Rickenbacker Silver Hawaiian-Melobar Powerslide 88-Fender deluxe 6 - Bronson Melody King -Fouke Industrial Purple Menace-Hudson Resonator lap thing-Vega something or other- |

Those guitars sound great! I used to own one and it was among my favorite non-pedal guitars tonally.
Only one caveat I can think of is that guitars like this one are three-legged and should only be played in a sitting position. When played standing up they get somewhat "tippy."
I have seen some Customs modified with 4 legs, but that "voids the warranty..." _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

The only problem I've had is of one of the legs telescoping down if not tightened properly.
The double neck can "sway" a bit in the standing position, but I always found my triple to be pretty solid. I've never had one tip. |

One major factor - has it been refinished?
On console steels that reduces values in the Vintage Guitar Price Guide by roughly 30-40% (moreso if pickups have been rewound). Smart buyers use that to establish "not to exceed" prices, understand factors affecting prices, etc.
Then comes a Reverb.com search and checking "sold items" prices - NOT listing prices.
Have you looked under the tuner pans for a penciled in date? That can make quite a difference as well. _________________ No chops, but great tone

I have never seen a Fender steel date make any difference in price... especially for the trap pickup models. Pre-CBS is just a don't care situation for these... the newer ones have nicer cases and are generally in better shape, poly finish aside. _________________ Too much junk to list... always getting more. |
