I read here on the Forum that Lloyd Green did all Lynn’s sessions except Rose Garden. Ricky Davis might chime in here and ask Lloyd.

This just in from Lloyd:
Hi Ricky,

And hello to all you Forum members.

All of us love this difficult, but beautiful instrument the steel guitar.

Regarding the Lynn Anderson version of “Blue Bayou” I don’t think it was me playing, although I did occasionally mask my normal style on a cover song when a recorded solo was so memorable that it seemed blasphemous to deviate far from the original version.

Dan Dugmore painted such a picture (solo) with Linda Ronstadt on the song.

I don’t know who was on Lynn’s cover version but it does differ from Dan’s quite a bit although it sounds good. It may have been Doyle Grisham??

Pete Drake played on “Rose Garden” with Lynn, my first session to have missed with her. Hell of a record to have been absent from since it was her career song, selling more than 4 million records!! I was recording with Freddie Hart that night….

Thanks for asking,

Lloyd

It's not Lloyd and if it was a Columbia session it's probably Pete Drake.
