From the 1999 Smoky Mountain Jamboree Knoxville, TN USA
You all remember Russ from the staff band on the TV show "Hee Haw". Russ also was part of the Barefoot Jerry Band, Connie Smith Band and many, many others.
Enjoy one of the most unique steelers of our time and Russ is also my "cruising" buddy. We did the Steel Guitar Cruise together and Russ almost did not get on the ship. He left his passport in his cargo baggage. They dug the bag out of the hole and got the passport to Russ just 5 minutes before sail time. Whew!
Russ is joined by one of my favorite "girl" singers that I also had the priviledge of picking behind many times "Laney Smallwood Hicks".
Russ also allowed me to ba a part of the "Hicks PicNic" for many years.
Show Producer: Stoney Stoneceipher

Vocals: Laney Smallwood Hicks

Sit back, turn up your stereo or headphones and enjoy.

It is Don Curtis, but it is NOT Ben Brogdon.
I know the bass players name, but it has completely slipped this old mind. Surely it will come to me. hehe
