Hello my pedal steel friends. i could buy an Emmons Lashley LeGrande Pedal Steel. There is no number on the lashley Grande tag so i think its version 1. Can anybody tell me something about this guitar? Best regards Gerry

Hi Gerd/Gerry,
I have a Lashley LeGrande D-10 that I got new in the early 1990’s.
It’s a superb guitar, I believe built by Jack Strayhorn.

excellent guitars in most every case and the first Emmons guitars built with the all-pull rather than push-pull design. some would say it's a more user-friendly design.
I absolutely love my Legrande III in every way. solid mechanics and amazing tone.

If the keyhead is 5.5" long you may have a SKH which is a pretty special guitar but it probably wouldn't say Lashley. Dateing an Emmons isn't a very precise endevour. If in decent shape, it's easily worth $2.5k
Good luck. Ron

Hey Lee:
I have an Emmons Lashley Legrande which appears almost identical to the one you have except for the color.
As a reply to my inquiry in April 2007 Rebecca Lashley stated the following--Serial #539L (my guitar)
was built 5-24-1988 8 pedals and 8 knees,single coil pickups,the finish -DGRAY ,Schaller keys,and 11 compensators.It has 4hole bellcranks.
