24 years old this week

I had the week between Christmas and New Years off from work in 1997, and used the time to create the first version of The Steel Guitar Forum. That version hasn't survived, but you can see other pieces of my web site from that era on The Wayback Machine.

24 years and counting...

b0b, you’ve made an immeasurable contribution to steel guitar but more importantly, to the people/us who play or just love the sound. Thanks to you and Mrs. Lee…Carl

Hi Bob,
Your creation of this excellent publication is the real reason I believe at least 10,000 + old and new Pedal Steel hopefuls enjoy playing such an instrument day after day.
Your contribution to this has and always will be a token of love, admiration, thought, caring, and affection for your fellow musicians.
Thankyou Sir for these 24 years of bliss in music.

Bob, The Steel Guitar Forum has been an invaluable resource for steel guitar players world wide since you first built it. Thank you for all you have done for the steel guitar community.

Equally impressive to me as creating the Forum is how b0b has managed it over the years, never letting the inmates take over the asylum, ruling with a deft, firm, fair and compassionate touch. Bravo, Cap'n!

I was a little tardy for the party, having stopped playing for several years. Since then I've benefitted and separated from more than a few dollars, having bought a few amps and guitars and too much assorted gear.

I've also benefitted from the wealth of knowledge that resides here, with age old discussions AND an argument of several on how and why to tune a certain way. Discussions on copedents (Sorry Junior) I always find interesting, and of course discussion on things I hadn't yet thought about.

b0b, I dare say we'd all be MANY steps behind without what you've done for this community. THANK YOU, for your vision to develop and hone the Forum into what it is today.

The Forum makes one feel like part of a family.
Before the Forum, I felt like kind of a bastard calf! :D

I remember the early days. You posting on the old AOL "forum" about your site. I was one of the early ones as we abandoned the AOL group for this forum.

b0b,

Thank you for what you do. It's always professional and you run it with a strict, but fair, process. If there was still a SGHOF, I think you should be in it because of the contributions you've made to the steel guitar community.

b0b, I just want to tell you how grateful I am for starting the Steel Guitar Forum in the first place.
I am so into this forum I would find it very hard to adapt to life with out it.
Thank you from the heart b0b. God bless you.

Bob, this Forum has given me endless resources to tap the knowledge and share the experience of playing steel guitar. I can't begin to express my appreciation for the friendship and connection to a community much larger than my mind can comprehend. Thanks for the creation of this wonderful Forum and its amazing membership.

I think for number #25 we’ll have to crowd fund a pedal steel shaped cake for you b0b. It will be tuned to D6 of course.

Congrats on a job continually well done!
