Some of you may know that I fell in October and fractured my patellar (knee cap) and ruptured the patellar tendon. I've been laid up since. Being bored I wanted to play but can't bend my knee to use the volume pedal. I came with this solution. It's a Telonics Emmons pedal bar mounting bracket installed upside-down and a couple plastic L-brackets on the back. Works great and now I can play at the house while recouping from surgery.

| Great problem solving Johnny. As a Physical Therapist , I've spent a lot of time helping people figure out work-arounds for their disabilities. Well done. Curious, do you have any more difficulty using the right knee levers with this set up ? |

I have an arthritic right knee that will only allow a few minutes on a volume pedal in the conventional position. My condition and solution is not as extreme as Johnny's, but I found putting the pedal outside and just in front of the leg relieves the pain. Sort of like Kayton did except a little further forward for a bit less bend in the knee.
I tried it last weekend and was able to play basically pain free for a couple hours at a time where before, 30 minutes would be killing me and take several minutes to relax and pain subside. I would just have to quit and stand up before.
In my case, Yes, it does somewhat impact the right knee levers, especially the RKL, but I'm trying to learn to adjust to that.
The best option would be a remote controlled VP such as the Telonics, but that's pretty costly.
For Johnny, it just shows that like someone else said, you can't keep a good man down. Where there's a will, there's a way. |

Joseph, with this setup I'm able to get far enough under the guitar to still use both right knee levers pretty comfortably. Due to the soreness I did use some foam insulation tape to pad the levers a bit and that helps.
