I am trying to remove a stock Emmons "Pentad" humbucking pickup from my Legrande III with counterforce. I unscrewed the three long screws and it won't budge. It neither lifts nor lowers. What am I missing?

I want to measure the spacers around the counterforce to change pickups. I also notice that the stock pickup sits pretty far down from the strings and seems to be non-adjustable.

I figured it out. The stock pickup is held in by four tiny screws running right through the body of the pickup. They are about 1 inch long and look to be #4 machine screws. Unscrew them and the pickup is free to do with as you want.

I discovered that the shielded output cable runs through a tapered tube to get past various rods underneath. The hole in the tube is too small to clear a Lawrence L705 split coil pickup cable. It would have to be drilled out or bypassed to use a 1/8 inch diameter signal cable.

I may be getting a single coil pickup from the new Emmons company. If so, I will report back here on how the installation goes.
