I found: Released as a single in 1974. No credits found. Also released on self titled LP in 1975 with steel guitar credits for the LP listed as:
Pete Drake
Lloyd Green
Charlie Owens
Barry "Byrd" Burton of Amazing Rhythm Aces fame.
I would just be guessing, but it does not sound like either Lloyd or Pete. Not that familiar with Owens, but I have a lot of music with Byrd on steel and that would just my random guess.

I, and a couple of others, were talking with Jeff Newman one time and this song came up in the conversation, and he said it was Pete. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I found credits for Loyd & Charlie too.It does sound like Pete quite a bit....I think that's a good example of how 5 or 6 good little moves tastefully placed and played can make the song.... _________________ Franklin D10 /Walker Sterio Steel JBL's /DigiTech Quad4/ Korg Toneworks/ Dobro DM 1000 / Santa Cruz Guitar VA |
