I have a S-B Professional that needs some TLC.
I could travel a coupe of hours if needed
Thank you,
Roy Sawyer

Professional means rack & barrel, I assume, right? (unless it was some sort of custom rebuild).
I would be your guy for a later Bud but not for the R & B, unfortunately.

I can help, I am in Ohio, but may be able to offer assistance via Zoom, or Facetime if you are an Apple computer user.
Thanks, Mike

I see where you are located. I’m North of Amsterdam. PM me and I’ll give you my phone number so we can talk. I’m not an expert but I have experience with older Buds like yours.

I am about 1 1/2 hours west of you... Had several R&B Buds, several with 2 hole pullers, several super pro undercarriages as well over the decades.. Would be happy to check it out.. Might be something that can be rectified quickly.. If its not too big a deal , and just a few adjustments, it won't cost you a cent.. Retired and not needing "extra money" these days... Worst that can happen is I tell you the guitar is really worn and tired and should be sent to be rebuilt,, that rarely happens.. Old Buds are tough, they just usually need to be cleaned and set up right to be playable... PM me if I can help you out... bob

I sent my rack-and-barrel Sho-Bud 6139 to Ricky Davis in Texas for a 100,00 mile mechanical overhaul. It was worth the cost and aggravation. When FedEx dropped it back on my front porch it was like I had received a new guitar.

I did mine myself! Was in rough shape when I bought it. Just took it down to pieces, ran through carb cleaner, and reassembled and lubed. Works a dream now! It’s not as scary as it seems.

Anybody around nyc still doing rack and barrel work? The popular choice John Widgren's website is down.
Thanks!
