The Homecoming - in honor of Tom T. Hall

Kind of a rush job, but I wanted to do something ASAP to honor the great Tom T. Hall. Country music has lost one of it's best songwriters and entertainers. So many great songs by this man. Tom T. could sit on a stool with just a guitar and have the audience hanging on to every word that came out of his mouth. Funny songs followed by one that would make you tear up.
This is one of my favorites. While recording this, it really made me miss my dad. So much reading between the lines.

One of my favorites and you do it justice. We are very close to one another maybe we can get together and pick someday.

Yes, please let me know when some picking is going on up that way. My wife is a big Sam's club of JC customer. There used to be a steel jam at Church Hill ocassionally, but I don't think they've had it in several years. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the song. It's all about the song.

I usually comment on your tunes because I like them so well! This is no exception. It is as good a performance of that tune as I have heard. Thank you very much.

Very well, done! I was privileged to play in Tom T’s band for 4 years (83 - 86). Although most of his songs used Dobro, Tom loved the steel. While I was with him we had 2 terrific steel players - Ray Edwards and Mike Cass - and both tripled by also playing Dobro and banjo.
