My old friend Chic Beekley passed yesterday from a battle with cancer. Chic worked as a steel player and also worked at the Sho-Bud factory in the 70s. He was a huge Julian Tharpe fan and played Julian's 14 string tuning. Rest in peace my friend.

I bought his Tharpe 14 SN 003 back in 1976. Jeff Newman sent me his way. I got a great deal on it. Never met him but was a pleasure to deal with. _________________ Desmond Johnson |
