Well...
I'm using a Boss FV 500H pedal and it has huge linearity issues...
nomatter how much I adjust it..it is either on or off..

what is a good solid PSG volume pedal that won't break the bank?

Goodrich 120. You can buy a new scratch and dent pedal at Reverb for less than some of the used ones for sale.

That pedal is passive, and works pretty much like every other pot pedal if the control on the side is set to "Min"!

So if you have it set to "Min", and it still doesn't work properly, I'm thinking either your amp volume is set way too low, or your pedal is defective.

I'm a fan of Fractal Audio's pedal. A bandmate lent me an EV Series Volume/Expression Pedal a while back when my old Sho-bud pedal pot went bad. It was lower profile, rugged, smooth operating and used a rack and pinion gear rather than a string - all pluses.

I wonder if your pot is bad. There's not much to passive pedals besides that and the string. It's got to be one or the other.

...don't think they use a string in that one...

My mistake! I've never changed the pot in one.

If it uses string and pot for control. Check the set screw that holds the sleeve/pulley to the shaft, Can cause fits if it come loose.

Get a Goodrich (and a couple pots) and you'll be Good for the rest of your life :)
