Bar on strings

Hi I not sure to to explain this nut here goes
with the guitar strings tuned..
Im useing patterson tuner, with the tuner on while tuning the guitar if I place the bar on one of the frets should it give the name of the string..if I chose the 5 string whis is the B if I got it in tune and put my bar on 1 fret it should be C note, but it all over the place..
The resion I ask I was trying to find a G note..
on some tabs the writer uses 7 LKL, I have no pedles on 7string and I found a note writen by me.
it says if the tab says 7LKL I would have to play 2 frets back and play 4 5 6
The component of the tab writer says
his 7string with LKL is G note

Paul, using an electronic tuner is fine for open notes or for tuning the pedals, but an electronic tuner is far too sensitive to try to use it on the barred strings. You have to use your ear to intonate the notes properly when you're using the bar. (The fret markings will only get you "in the ballpark".)

If your using the peterson flip lid tuner , they do fly all over the place , the peterson HD , is stable , I have it mounted right in front of my right hand , when you put your bar on any fret , the strobe is right on stable ,
