Pelican case foam cutout

I am going to get a Storm IM3100 for my show pro S10 and I wanted to see what people did for the foam cutout. Has anyone reinforced corner blocks with wood? Is the foam sturdy enough where the area for the pedal bar, legs and rods wont collapse if REALLY tossed?

Do I have to cover the foam with fabric?
