OSGA....Okla Steel Guitar Assn.....a brief history

I was talking to my buddy Steve about his first time to play the OSGA show . He finally decided it would have been 1987 . The interesting {and intimidating} thing was......the bass player was Big E . Can you imagine yourself being a young player and looking over at Buddy Emmons ???? I wouldn't be able to find my hands with both my a$$es .
He said that the venue was the legendary Cains Ballroom and that , at that time , he thought it wasn't named OSGA . Maybe some of you veterans...i.e. John Buffington and Marty Neer would be willing to shed some light on this . He did say that Butch Fishwick was the President at that time . Let me hear from you players who were there during that show . Thank you
