Nice! I have a 59 and a 100 too--I've had bakelites, fry pans and consoles. My beat up 59 is still by far the best sounding Rick I have had. I had several pretty ones, but the beat up one is the one I kept. Just can't beat a good Rick.

Congrats on the Beautiful New Additions!

Super nice Collection!

Would love to hear what the differences are in each of them. How do they sound different? I know it’s hard to put tone into words, but the opportunity to play them next to each other is something that most of us will never be able to do.

You are bad, bad man, @Jeff Spencer. You had to post those just as I was finally getting my Rickenbacher lust under control!

James, I will. That's a great idea. I will set up a PA mixer board and EQ it flat. Then I can just switch channels. (Give me some time, a few things family wise on at the moment.)

I will not envy...

I will not envy...

Do you tune those differently, or use the same tuning on all of them?

Hi David. I use about 3-4 tunings. A6, B11, E7 etc. That said I focus on C6. The C6 can vary between 8 & 6 string versions. The bottom 2 strings on my 8 string steels get varied depending on the song. I mai ly play with a E on top.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jeff. Thanks for posting photos of your latest.
The Rick 59 is a great little steel.

Here is a photo of my Rick 59.

RICKENBACHER ELECTRO MODEL 59 (ivory - 1 knob): c. 1937

It is not my favorite or most valuable, but I
enjoy playing it, and it is a keeper for me.

Thanks C E Jackson. I always enjoy seeing your guitars!! Yours and mine are certainly brothers. The serial no of mine is E 2.....that's it!

Jeff, my Rick model 59 does not have a serial
number, but a patent number (date). It was
appraised by George Gruhn in 2004, and he
certified it was made in 1937. It was stuffed
with newspaper dated December 22, 1937.

Friend to all,

C. E. Jackson :)
