There's a vast Steel Guitar heritage out there with the many vintage Sho-Bud's that were built and still exist to this day. Thanks to guys like Jeff Surratt, Ricky Davis, James Morehead, Leon Roberts, Coop & a few others. . . .parts & rebuilds for Sho-Buds are available today and make it possible for these old guitars to still live on. I've owned 3 Sho-Buds during my years of playing, and still have my old '78 Pro-1 which I acquired in the late 80's. I'll start off by posting some pics my Sho-Bud's. We'd like to see yours as well. . . .so if you have "Sho-Bud" pics then post away.
My '78 Pro-1 that I bought 25 years ago and still have.
My very first steel, a Sho-Bud Maverick mid 80's
My Fender/Sho-Bud. I never liked the sound of this steel because it twanged like a Telecaster. But oh how I wish now I had of kept it.

Hey Nick, here's the cool '68 I rebuilt for my daughter. I have never heard so much natural "growl" in a guitar like this one has. It has the original single/single fingers. I played this guitar at Dallas last year. It's perfect for the old Buck Owens era country music.

I love my short body 80's pro-1
it is actually shorter than my brand new Rittenberry and very close in weight (its the case that pushes the Sho-bud up over the Ritt in weight)
its a bit old and clanky, but it sounds really really good! |

I generally don't like endplates, but recently got a blonde D-10 Permanent that has them.
Here are two I have that are cabinet ends. The one with green necks and pickups is Al Udeen's old 1957.

Chris! The blue green necks and pups are way too cool. The guitar on the chair is gorgeous too! Same inlay/trim as my Rosewood Fingertip. Wonder if they were built around the same time??? Are those 18 to 1 Grovers?
