New Instrumental music with steel (pedal, lap and dobro)!

Post by Rick Heins »

Hi all,

I just wanted to share some moody instrumental music I've been doing during the pandemic at home to keep me sane. It's in tribute to my home town, Phoenix, AZ. There are a couple of Blue Nile covers as well.

It's not traditional country but it has that spirit. I played all the parts, including lap steel, dobro, electric guitar, baritone, and my trusty 1973 cut tail Emmons, the Smurf!

Please take a moment, if you have time, to listen to the tracks and share your thoughts. Thanks!

I love it. I'm on "Caliche Dust" and it's my favorite, so far, but all has been great.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! You never know if people will take the time to listen so I truly appreciate it.

I'm also going to keep adding to the list of songs so come back from time to time and see what's new. :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I’m happy someone else knew the Blue Nile. One of my favorite 80s/90s bands. I know this stuff isn’t traditional country but i think there’s room for steel in pretty much any genre!
