Early Fifties Dual Pro in good shape for a 70 year old. Pencil date in the tuner pan is 8/30/51 with TG(Tadeo Gomez possibly) and pots along with the case put it in that general timeframe being how varied aging old Fenders can be. The front neck pickup is strong and sounds great. The rear has around 60% power but is still clear with no cracking or rattling. Neck selector switch and pots are smooth and work great as do all the tuners which are all straight. Original legs and sockets are just how they should be. There are of course some shallow bar dings, scratched corners and where it looks like someone didn’t want sticker fret markers on the front neck and tried to take them off with varying degrees of success not leaving a mark. Not trying to portray it as a clunker (which it definitely isn’t) but just don’t want anyone to be surprised. Case is fully functional and latches work but is more of a war horse than a show-pony. Interior is pretty decent with only a little light damage in a rear corner. The deluxe wire handle actually serves as an anti theft device because there is no way someone can run while holding onto that thing. Shipping out of Juneau,AK is going to be around $150 for USPS Priority and that’s honestly the best bet out of here because we don’t even get ground prices because it’s by land or air to get here. Packed with the utmost care. Great guitar with all the Honky Tonk mojo you can handle but I just need to thin the herd a bit and I’d like it to go to a good home and not just get chopped up because there sure aren’t any more of these babies getting built. Buyer pays 3% PayPal fees. $1250 plus shipping. Full disclosure-not affiliated or related to Don Helms or any famous steel players for that matter🙂 Thanks for looking and hoping to find a nice pasture for this old mare.
